Major fire at transport company in Poederoijen | Inland

A church and several houses across the street from the burning building are being kept wet. The fire brigade is also keeping a house wet in the yard. The warehouse is a large multi-company building, which was completely lost due to the fire. As far as is known, no people were injured.

The cause of the fire is not yet known. Explosions were heard shortly before the fire. According to the emergency services, the flames quickly spread several meters high from the roof of the affected building. Thick clouds of smoke hang in the area. That is why the fire brigade has distributed an NL-Alert in the vicinity of Poederoijen and in the municipality of Altena in North Brabant, on the other side of the Afgedamde Maas. People have to close windows and doors and turn off the mechanical ventilation. The Central and West Brabant fire brigade warns of nuisance due to stench and smoke.
