Major disruption in train traffic in the Netherlands will take hours longer: no trains for at least 20 hours

The problem lies in the system that NS uses to plan both personnel and trains. As a result, railway safety cannot be guaranteed at the moment. It is not possible for travelers to use the journey planner and there is no information in the stations either.

The Nederlandse Spoorwegen therefore advises travelers to postpone their journey: “Normally we use this system to make a new planning after a malfunction, but that is not possible now. We are working on a solution.”

According to the Dutch Railways, it is still unclear how long the outage will last. Previously, it was assumed that 5 pm, but in the meantime the NS has announced that there will be no trains until at least 8 pm.
