major control operations before the new year

New Year’s Eve is fast approaching and if many French people will wisely stay at home because of the health context and the curfew in force, some still plan to party. In order to make Isérois aware of the importance of continuing to respect health rules during this holiday season, the police carried out two major control operations this Wednesday evening, in the presence of the prefect of Isère, Lionel Beffre. The first one at the Grand Place shopping center in Grenoble and the second in a neighborhood from Pont-de-Claix, in the south of the Grenoble conurbation.

Respect for barrier gestures at Grand Place

The last races for the preparations for the New Year’s Eve will attract people to the stores this Thursday, December 31 and in particular at the Grand Place shopping center in Grenoble. It is for this reason that the prefect of Isère, Lionel Beffre, chose this place to conduct barrier gesture control operations. On this New Year’s Eve, it is useful to remember that the coronavirus is still circulating and that health rules must more than ever be respected in order to avoid a third epidemic wave.

Respect for the curfew in Pont-de-Claix

Unlike Christmas Eve, the curfew for will be in effect for the New Year’s Eve. The objective is to avoid groupings and the risk of coronavirus contamination. In order to raise awareness among residents, a major curfew control operation was held this Wednesday evening in the Îles de Mars district in Pont-de-Claix, in the Grenoble metropolitan area.

This December 31, a hundred security forces will be deployed in the department to enforce the curfew.
