This Wednesday, in the morning, a major civil security exercise will be held in Dijon and Longvic. It is on the EDIB site, boulevard de Beauregard, that the “visible” intervention will be concentrated. With disturbances to note.

Don’t panic if you hear sirens, receive a notification on your phone or if you see smoke in the Longvic area this Wednesday morning: this is an exercise! The Côte-d’Or prefecture is in fact carrying out a double civil security exercise this morning which will mobilize numerous resources.
As we indicated on Friday, two sites will be concerned: the Midi refinery in Dijon and EDIB, an industrial waste processing site, in Longvic.
Boulevard de Beauregard will be closed
The part which will take place at the Midi refinery will not impact the population, since this exercise is not “visible”. This involves updating the site’s emergency plan.
In Longvic, the part concerning EDIB will be much more visible. From 8:45 a.m. until 11:30 a.m., firefighters, site employees, emergency services and many other actors will be deployed. Boulevard de Beauregard will be completely closed to traffic from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. to “test the effectiveness of the roadblocks”. Rail traffic could also be impacted.
A siren, smoke and a notification on the phones
Within a radius of 500 meters around the site, it will be possible to hear the “mermaid PPI” (for specific intervention plan) which will broadcast the national alert signal to the populations. It should be active around 9 a.m.
The firefighters will also install a machine to disperse smoke, in order to simulate a fire. If no actual fire will be started, it will be possible to see smoke. Finally, an SMS notification FR-Alert, the new population alert system, will be sent to residents within a radius of 800 meters around the site.
