Banks in the Czech Republic have been making quite fundamental changes recently. For example, some of them introduce a very unpopular fee for confirmation SMS messages with codes that are needed to log in to Internet banking or to send a payment.
Just one more app
Clients of banks are also currently having a hard time transferring to other card associations, when, for example, Česká spořitelna suddenly changed payment cards to everyone before the end of their validity, which meant that for customers it was difficult to fill in data from new cards into the various services for which they pay in this way.
And it is Česká spořitelna, which has now come up with another significant change for its clients, which was reported by the server ePřehledně.cz. It is nothing less than the fact that this bank is canceling the George key mobile application, which was used to log in to the internet and mobile banking of this largest bank in the Czech Republic.
However, you don’t have to worry that Česká spořitelna might switch back to logging in via SMS, which it might then charge for. That’s not really going to happen. On the contrary, the result of the whole process should be simplification, since key generation will become part of the basic George mobile application. You will no longer have to have two different applications on your phone, but one with extended functionality.

Different authentication options
The process of transferring clients to the new solution has already started, but it will be gradual, so if you haven’t been contacted yet, please wait. You will be informed about everything by the bank itself. Due to the large number of clients, it is assumed that this will last until the spring of next year.
If you are wondering what kind of authentication you will use to log in now, then know that you will be able to choose from the options that already work today, which is a six-digit PIN code, or biometric authentication using a fingerprint or face. Everything will be as comfortable as possible.
Česká spořitelna admits that a certain part of clients have so far refused to use login via the application, or indeed the entire mobile banking system. “The main reason why clients do not use mobile George is the fact that they generally do not want to use a smart phone. Now we offer them a simpler solution,” said its spokesperson Filip Hrubý.

In any case, this is a change for the better, but Česká spořitelna scored very negative points a few days ago, when it was revealed how much it can charge for a simple withdrawal from an ATM, if you use a foreign card. You don’t have to be a foreigner, you just need to use a Revolut card and you will be charged a fee of CZK 169, even if you only withdraw two hundred.
