Met videoZUNDERT – A large fire raged in a barn on the Rucphenseweg in Zundert on Monday evening. Flames erupted from the roof. The fire was under control at around 9:32pm. Firefighters expect to be busy with post-extinguishing for some time.

The fire in the barn behind a house started at 8:20pm. Shortly after reporting, firefighters switched to medium fire. Firefighters responded to the barn fire with five vehicles and an aerial platform. To put out the large barn fire, firefighters dug water from a nearby ditch. The fire released a lot of smoke.
Dozens of firefighters
After more than an hour, the firefighters put out the fire. At around 21:32 the signal to fire was given. Dozens of firefighters are putting out the blaze. Firefighters should continue to put out the fire for some time.
The roof of the barn was largely blown off by the fire. The barn probably held a car and an RV, among other things. During the post-extinguishing, the charred remains of a car and an RV were removed from the shed with a clamshell. Stichting Salvage was called in to inspect the property damage.
Due to the fire extinguishing works, the road at the height of the town, from the roundabout, was closed. It is unclear how the fire started.
