The preparation for the new season has yet to start and most clubs are still busy with the final training sessions of the current season. The Dutch league was shut down in early March and at the end of April it was decided not to finish it. As of 1 September, football has only been discussed at the highest level in the Netherlands for the time being. This has far-reaching consequences for the transfer market. According to FOX Sports, the transfer period for Dutch clubs is ‘cut up’ and moved.
The following can be read on the FOX Sports site: “FIFA has granted a request from the KNVB to adapt to this. As a result, the transfer period is now from 1 July to 21 July and to be determined nine weeks in accordance with the last nine weeks of the registration period of most European countries. “In the period that the transfer window is closed in the Netherlands, players may leave but not be registered. So the arduous task for technical director Frank Arnesen is to compile a selection in a period of three weeks without knowing when the other 9 weeks of the transfer window will open.
