One person died and another is in critical condition after a major accident involving a panoramic gondola and construction machinery late Sunday morning in Mont-Tremblant.
According to initial information from the Sûreté du Québec, the gondola would have yielded following an impact.
The death of one of the two victims was confirmed in the middle of the afternoon by the Sûreté du Québec.
The other occupant of the gondola is still in critical condition.
Investigators from the Sûreté du Québec are on the scene to clarify the causes and circumstances of this accident.
A few hours after the serious accident, Mont Tremblant suspended its activities and canceled the rest of its blues festival “in respect for the people involved”.
The Tremblant International Blues Festival was to end in the evening.
