There were many traffic jams in the Rotterdam area on Wednesday morning due to an accident involving several cars on the A20 at the Terbregseplein junction. Several cars were involved in the accident.
The accident happened just after 6:30 am. It was caused by a collision between a truck and a car. The car therefore ended up on the wrong side of the road, where it was hit a second time.
The emergency services were still working to get the driver out of the car around 8:30 am.
According to the ANWB, it is very busy around Rotterdam and will probably remain that way for a while. The A20 from Gouda towards Hoek van Holland is close to Rotterdam-Crooswijk. Rijkswaterstaat expects the road to remain closed all morning.
From the A16, traffic cannot go west, reports the ANWB. Traffic jams on the A16 and A20 are increasing rapidly.
