[MàJ] LEGO Super Mario: date and price of first packs released – news

On March 12, LEGO and Nintendo formalized a partnership aimed at bringing connected toys from the Super Mario universe to the market.

Today, our colleagues from Gameblog indicate that new information has been released regarding the date, the price, and the content of the first sets. Thus, the first three packs will be available from August 1, 2020, and all three must be owned to exploit the full range of possibilities offered by each of them. So we will have:

  • Mario Starter Course (€ 59.99): 231 LEGO pieces including the Mario figure
  • The balance of the Piranha Plant (€ 29.99): 132 pieces
  • The Battle of Bowser’s Castle (€ 99.99): 1010 pieces

The whole will be accompanied by a free app called LEGO Super Mario, which will have construction instructions, and will make it possible to record the scores achieved during the games. To conclude, our colleagues have released a few images of these upcoming sets, which are also available today pre-order. Takashi Tezuka, ex-executive officer and game producer at Nintendo, says:

Super Mario has always existed, through different media, adapted to the trends of their time. I am happy that in this project with the LEGO Group, Mario comes out of the digital world of game consoles and smart devices *, and that we are able to bring it to life in our world, thanks to a completely new physical game. It is so great to know that LEGO Mario will become a real companion for children and that they will be able to play with him in the world they have imagined themselves.
