The distribution of social cards to needy persons who have submitted applications has already started in the Klaipėda district councils. This innovation has replaced long-standing support for families with food and hygiene items since this year. Now that people have received social cards, they will be able to choose where and which products and goods they need to buy.
In the Klaipėda district, 1,190 people have already applied for the issuance of cards, and another 889 residents have applied for support with food products. EUR 25 will be transferred to the card of the selected network per person per quarter, and food support per person will amount to 5 kilograms.
When the representatives of “Maisto bankas” arrive at the Klaipėda district council, the residents will receive messages indicating the time to pick up the card.
Proof of identity must be presented upon arrival to pick up the card. Persons who have collected cards by April 5, they will be available from April 15.
Please note that you can pick up social cards in any Klaipėda district ward, regardless of your place of residence.

Indigent persons whose average monthly income per family member currently does not exceed 235.50 euros per month can apply for a card and food support until 2024. of October You can do this:

– by contacting the social benefits specialist in the ward of your place of residence.
The program for the reduction of material poverty aims to contribute to the improvement of the quality of life of low-income persons by providing assistance in purchasing food products and necessary consumer goods. This support can be received by persons whose average monthly income does not exceed 1.5 of the state-supported income approved by the Government of the Republic of Lithuania (1 VRP – 176 EUR) per month, in exceptional cases – 2.5 VRP per month per person.
