Mainvilliers vs Orléans: A Challenging Trip Back from Corsica

This 2nd day of National 3 sends the Mainvillois to Orléans for a trip which promises to be much more lenient and much shorter than that in Corsica last weekend, where the CSM had to stay two and a half days, instead of 24 hours.

Mainvilliers stuck in Corsica

A still eventful return from Corsica

Blocked at Ajaccio airport on Sunday evening by a storm that hit the Isle of Beauty, Samy Yahmed’s troupe had to sleep two additional nights in Corsica, the flights being all full on Monday. But the return on Tuesday was not easy, as Samy Yahmed recounts.

“There is a group of 18 who stopped in Marseille and another who passed through Nice. We arrived in Marseille at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning to leave three-quarters of an hour late around 4 p.m. 15. What made us arrive around 7 p.m. in Mainvilliers…”

The “Niçois”, themselves, had a little more luck since the stopover in the Baie des Anges was much shorter than that of the “Phocéens”, which allowed them to return much earlier to Eure-et- Dormouse… by train.

The US Dreux-Vernouillet finally fished out in National 1 federal!

Suffice to say that the Ajaccio adventure completely disorganized the start of the Mainvillois week. “The two training sessions on Monday evening and Tuesday evening were therefore canceled and we had to redo a light start on Wednesday”, explains a frustrated Samy Yahmed, like all his group, of the result at the Ajaccian reserve (defeat 1-0 ). “We got six clear chances, we weren’t rewarded for our great debauchery of effort. That’s what emerged from the discussions we had on Monday…” Between two games of cards to kill the time.

Ludwig Lahaye resting

There were not only negative things about this Corsican trip and these two days spent in the Mediterranean were able to strengthen group cohesion. “That’s already it,” says Samy Yahmed who, like most of these players, lost two days of work. And some will have to “sit on it”, despite the extenuating circumstances.

Back to the championship, so this Saturday with Mainvillois who will “take off” around 2:30 p.m. to avoid traffic jams when returning from vacation. “And we will be a little more comfortable since the club has made available to us – for our Parisian and regional trips – a 60-seater bus”, specifies Samy Yahmed who had not defined, yesterday, his group which will challenge the USO reserve.

“I have 18 players.” But, compared to the last match, the coach will be without striker Ludwig Lahaye, operated on for crusaders a little over a year ago, and not yet back to the top of his form. In the group of 18 players were added defender Raymond Inwen, midfielder Christ Nsona and offensive Amir Naji.

“One thing is certain, we will have to raise the bar and be more realistic against an opponent who has just held Linas-Monthléry, one of the contenders for the climb, in check.”

During the 1st day, in Essonne, the USO of Jean-Charles Baeckelandt, led 2-0 after a good half hour, had found the resources to return to 2-2 by equalizing in stoppage time.
The CSM is therefore warned and knows what he has to do to avoid returning empty-handed from this second trip.
