Gardeners told what to add to water to flowers to maintain freshness
October 3 – NVL. To prevent flowers in a vase from fading quickly, they need to be properly cared for: simply putting them in water is not enough
The freshness of the bouquet depends on the type of plants, but to a greater extent – on proper care. To keep flowers fresh in a vase for as long as possible, it is necessary to frequently change the water in which they stand. At the same time, ordinary water is not enough to maintain freshness; you need to add one simple product from your home medicine cabinet.

To extend the life of plants cut in the fall, you need to drop 2-3 drops of 10% ammonia (ammonia) into the water. The main thing is to follow the dosage and not overdo it with the quantity: add a couple of drops to 1 liter of water.
Ammonia performs 2 functions: it serves as a fertilizer for flowers, since it contains nitrogen, and also protects against the development of pathogenic microorganisms in the water, causing decay processes.

It is believed that chrysanthemums are champions in their ability to adapt to home conditions. With proper care, cut chrysanthemums can stand in a vase for up to 30 days. The plant will actively bloom, opening new buds every day.
In second place in terms of endurance were carnations. They can stand in water for up to 3 weeks. But asters, orchids and hyacinths – up to 14 days. But without proper care, all types of flowers will wither after 7-8 days.
