Maintain Oxygen Availability, Governor Khofifah Invites All Hospitals in East Java to Proactively Fill Oxygen to Factories or Distributors

East Java Newsroom – The Governor of East Java, Khofifah Indar Parawansa, made another visit to the oxygen producing factory after two days ago doing the same thing. This is to ensure that the stock of liquid or liquid oxygen in East Java is basically sufficient.
“Because of the surge in meeting the needs of hospitals, currently all hospitals in East Java should be proactive in filling oxygen cylinders to factories or distributors,” said Governor Khofifah when reviewing the PT Oxygen Factory. Air Product Indonesia in the Industrial Gases Division, PT. Tira Austenite Tbk, Gresik Regency, Saturday (10/7).
During this visit, Governor Khofifah was accompanied by Plh. East Java Provincial Secretary Heru Tjahjono and the East Java Covid-19 Handling Task Force Team Dr Joni, Kadinkes Prov. East Java, Herlin Ferliana, Head of East Java Disperindang Drajat Irawan and Plant Manager of PT. Air Product Indonesia, Asep Saifudin.
According to the Governor, a pick-up or proactive method must be used to maintain the availability of oxygen. Because the current situation is very different from the past.
“In the past, they might have waited for the process of when the oxygen cylinder or cylinder was taken and then filled. Now they must be equally proactive considering the demand in hospitals has increased sharply,” he said.
In order for the pro-active method to be implemented properly, Governor Khofifah assigned the Head of the East Java Provincial Health Office to coordinate with hospitals to be equally proactive.
“So there is still room to get the acceleration of oxygen supply in each hospital,” he added.
Khofifah further explained that the support from the Oxygen Factory through PT. Air Product Indonesia, is accelerating the need for oxygen for hospitals and patients due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
“We want to make sure that at which points oxygen production can actually be maximized and we see that PT. Air Product will share its production through distributors. We also express our gratitude for the oxygen products here at one hundred percent for medical services,” explained Governor Khofifah. .
Then, one of the filling processes behind the factory, basically can still be maximized. The current team, ready to add shifts. One shift can reach 300 tubes or cylinders. 1 charge 30 minutes for 20 cylinders or 20 cylinders with a capacity of 6 M3 and it can be doubled.
“I think this is an important part. Let’s be proactive with each other. Maximize the oxygen needs that many hospitals experience so that the service for COVID-19 patients goes well,” he said.
If calculated and set correctly, then the quantitative level of availability of all products is sufficient. “But, once again, please be proactive,” said Khofifah.
The former RI Minister of Social Affairs again explained that each hospital must be able to communicate with a team who can ensure that the cylinders in each hospital when empty can be immediately sent to be filled.
“So it’s different from the past. Waiting for the team, then coming down to get a new cylinder to be filled and then sent back. If not now. The cylinders are brought here, filled here so that they can immediately be used by each hospital,” he said
