Mainland reports 93 new cases transmitted locally – French.news.cn

BEIJING, Jan. 18 (Xinhua) – China’s National Health Commission said on Monday it reported 109 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 on the mainland on Sunday, including 93 locally transmitted cases and 16 imported cases.

Of the local cases, 54 were reported in Hebei, 30 in Jilin, seven in Heilongjiang and two in Beijing, the commission said in its daily report.

Two new imported suspected cases were reported in Shanghai on Sunday, the commission said, adding that no deaths from the disease have been reported.

According to the report established Sunday at the end of the day, a total of 4,518 imported cases were recorded on the mainland. Of these, 4,234 left the hospital after their recovery, and 284 remain hospitalized. No deaths were reported among the imported cases.

By the same day, the total number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 on the mainland had reached 88,336. Among them, 1,301 were still hospitalized, including 43 in serious condition.

A total of 82,400 patients had left hospital after their recovery, and 4,635 had died of the disease on the mainland, the commission said.

On Sunday, three suspected cases of COVID-19 were reported on the mainland, and 34,231 close contacts remained under medical observation.

On the same day, 115 new asymptomatic cases were reported on the mainland, including eleven imported, and 61 asymptomatic cases were reclassified as confirmed cases.

A total of 788 asymptomatic cases were under medical observation, of which 254 were from outside the mainland.

As of late Sunday, 9,557 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 162 deaths, were reported in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR), 46 cases in Macao SAR and 855 cases, including seven deaths, in Taiwan .

A total of 8,758 COVID-19 patients in Hong Kong, 46 in Macau and 755 in Taiwan were discharged from hospital after their recovery.
