How have the vaccination rates in the region developed within a month? This emerges from the current figures from the health authorities.
Hardly any second vaccinations
Furthermore, the demand for second vaccinations is falling significantly. Within a month, the rates of fully vaccinated hardly changed. This is particularly evident in the Main-Spessart district: Here the rate has risen by just 1.5 percent. Around 68.5 percent of the district residents have now been fully vaccinated. This puts the district well below the national average – 74 percent across Bavaria and 75 percent across Germany.
In the Würzburg area, around 79 percent of the residents are now fully vaccinated, in the Kitzingen district it is 78 percent.
Demand for third vaccination
Accordingly, most of the corona vaccinations that are currently being carried out are booster vaccinations.
In the regions of Würzburg, Main-Spessart and Kitzingen, the quotas have each increased by around eight percent in the past four weeks.
Furthermore, the district of Kitzingen and the city and district of Würzburg have the highest vaccination rates for the third vaccination with 61 percent and 60 percent respectively. They are thus well above the Bavarian or national average. It is around 54 percent across Bavaria and 56 percent across Germany. It’s different in the Main-Spessart district: almost 52 percent of the district residents are boosted here.
Around 870 people from Würzburg vaccinated for the fourth time
In the meantime, those who want to be vaccinated can also be vaccinated against the corona virus a fourth time. So far, 870 people have done this in the Würzburg area. The fourth vaccination is offered to seniors over the age of 70, residents in care facilities and people with immunodeficiency, among others – at the earliest three months after the third vaccination.
The Main-Spessart and Kitzingen districts have not yet reported any numbers for the fourth vaccination.
