Most of the corona vaccinations that are currently being carried out in Mainfranken are booster vaccinations. This is evident from the current vaccination figures from the health authorities. The rates for second vaccinations are only increasing slightly – meanwhile, the demand for booster vaccinations is still high.
Accordingly, in the Würzburg area and in Kitzingen, well over half of the citizens have already been vaccinated for the third time. In the Würzburg area it is around 57 percent, in the Kitzingen district more than 58 percent. This puts both regions well above the Bavarian and national average. It is 51 percent across Bavaria and 53 percent nationwide.
The Main-Spessart district, on the other hand, is below the national comparison values for booster vaccinations. Less than half of the district residents have now been boosted here.
Meanwhile, the rates of those fully vaccinated have barely changed. Furthermore, around 78 percent of Würzburg residents have full vaccination protection, in the Kitzingen district it is almost 77 percent. Here, too, the Main-Spessart district has the lowest rate in a regional comparison: slightly more than two-thirds of the district residents have received two vaccinations.
