Mainfranken: Enough staff for corona tracking

The health authorities in the region have enough personnel to keep track of the contact persons of people infected with corona.
In principle, each health department has five employees per 20,000 inhabitants. The staff is allocated by the government of Lower Franconia. The Würzburg Health Department currently has all 70 employees entitled to it. They work in groups of five, in so-called “contact tracing teams”.
Both the health office in Main-Spessart and Kitzingen were not asked for all available employees. Because of the low number of corona infections in the counties, this is also not necessary, according to the health authorities. In both offices, 10 people are currently working to track Corona contacts. The other assigned people are trained in teams one by one so that they can be deployed quickly if necessary. The Main-Spessart Health Department has 22 employees, Kitzingen has 25.
The ARD had reported that numerous health authorities in Germany do not have enough employees to track contact persons of people infected with corona. Of more than 380 health offices, 180 replied, and according to the report, the majority of them do not have as many employees as officially assigned.
