At the start of the week, the health authorities from Mainfranken report six more corona deaths. Three of the cases come from Main-Spessart. According to the district office, they belonged to the risk group due to their age. Overall, the number of corona deaths in Main-Spessart rises to 174. There are also three more corona deaths in the Kitzingen district. It concerns a 79-year-old man and a 76-year-old woman, both of whom were initially infected at home and then died in a clinic. The third death is a 74-year-old man who lived in the senior citizens’ home in Marktbreit. A total of 49 people have died in connection with Covid-19 in the Kitzingen district since the beginning of the pandemic. The pandemic: In Main Franconia there were slightly fewer new corona infections over the weekend than in the week before. This can be seen from the figures of the Robert Koch Institute and those of the district offices: 31 new corona infections have been reported from Würzburg city since Friday. The 7-day incidence is around 80. In the Würzburg district, 20 new corona cases occurred over the weekend. The 7-day incidence is around 54. The health department has reported 50 more corona infections from Kitzingen since Friday. The 7-day incidence currently fluctuates strongly and, according to the RKI, is around 133 – and thus higher than it has been in about three weeks. New corona cases have occurred in the Kitzinger Land clinic, among others. Eight employees and five patients were infected there. Today all employees and patients are tested. One case of infection each occurred in the Wiesentheid senior citizens’ residence and in the emergency care group in the Kitzinger Realschule. Contact persons are now being tested. In Main-Spessart, 32 new infections were reported by the health department over the weekend. According to the RKI, the 7-day incidence is around 59. In the Schweinfurt area, there have been 30 new corona infections since Friday. The 7-day incidence is around 75 in the city and around 80 in the county.
