Maine-et-Loire: Laying of wreaths on the grave of Garde Roger Sechet – The voice of the gendarme

On Friday, November 17, a wreath presentation was orchestrated by Captain Yann Favennec at the Ecuille cemetery. After a raising of colors and a bell to the dead, we paid our respects at the grave of Garde Roger Sechet. After this deposit by the Gendarmerie of Tiercé, Souvenir Français and the commune of Ecuille we found ourselves in the premises of the town hall where we had a friendly drink. Among the 40 people present, the family of Guard Roger Sechet wanted to thank the Gendarmerie.

Link to see a summary of the 150 years produced to perfection by Captain Yann Favennec.

The week of the 150th anniversary of the Gendarmerie has just ended with great success. The approximately 300 people who participated were surprised by the performance of all our Gendarmes and Republican Guards. A success, complete due to the soldiers present, to the research and formatting work of Guard Roger Sechet, by Souvenir Français with the assistance of the Gendarmerie Historical Service and a remarkable presentation by Captain Yann Favennec.

The success is also due to the municipalities of Tiercé, Ecuille and defense correspondents Sébastien Lorieux and Benoît Butrulle. Without them nothing could have been done, the cultural services like the technical services of the two municipalities were very valuable to us, thank you to them.

Thank you to the Republican Guard for providing us with a sparkling detachment!

The two highlights of November 14 and November 17, carried out masterfully under the sun, allowed the public to attend military ceremonies which will remain in memory.

The speeches of the prefect of Maine-et-Loire, the commander of the departmental gendarmerie group of Maine-et-Loire, Souvenir Français and the two mayors were laudatory for the Gendarmerie with a strong duty of remembrance for Guard Roger Sechet.

Thank you again to everyone, long live the Gendarmerie and the Roger Sechet barracks.

Michel Lemarchand, treasurer of Ud49.
