Main-Tauber district and district of Würzburg in conversation

Representatives of the Main-Tauber-Kreis and the district of Würzburg recently met for a discussion across states and districts. The district office in Tauberbischofsheim informed about this in a press release. Since both districts have a new district administrator in Christoph Schauder (Main-Tauber district) and Thomas Eberth (Würzburg) after local elections, the conversation in the Kurhaus in Bad Mergentheim served to get to know each other. The representatives of the districts exchanged views on topics that concern both administrations.

“It is important that the two districts exchange information at regular intervals. Despite the geographical proximity, not only two different counties, but even two different countries are represented here. The different regulations in Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria are very interesting,” District Administrator Christoph Schauder is quoted as saying in the press release.

During the meeting, the district administrators and their management team talked about topics such as broadband expansion, public transport, tourism and road construction. “These issues concern us all, regardless of district or state borders,” says Schauder in the press release.

Organic model region here, eco-model region there

“The exchange and getting to know each other in a small circle is beneficial for both sides. We would be pleased if the talks and cooperation were further intensified after this appointment,” Würzburg District Administrator Thomas Eberth was quoted as saying.

When it came to the organic model region in the Main-Tauber district and the eco-model region in the district of Würzburg, everyone agreed that there were many things in common. The understanding of regionally produced products should be strengthened by both models, the sales chains should be optimized, according to the district administrators.

The corona pandemic has created a new reality in tourism. Holidays at home now play a major role both in the Main-Tauber district and in the Würzburg district, said District Administrator Schauder. According to District Administrator Eberth, Corona is definitely an opportunity to draw attention to the recreational and leisure activities at home. Both agreed that this opportunity should be used. A positive example is the initiative of the district of Würzburg to present and advertise the attractiveness of the homeland with “Urlaub dahemm”.

Exchange should be repeated, then again with mayors

In addition to District Administrator Schauder, state official Florian Busch from the Main-Tauber district also took part. The head of department for district development and education, Ursula Mühleck, and the head of department for technology, Werner Rüger, were also present. In addition to District Administrator Ebert, the head of the central control and service area, Rainer Künzig, the head of district development, Michael Dröse, and the head of the office of the district administrator, Isabell Schumacher, were also represented on the part of the district office of Würzburg.

The talks between the Main-Tauber district and the district of Würzburg have been taking place regularly for years, according to the press release. Normally, in addition to staff from the district offices, mayors of the communities on the district borders are also present. Because the actors involved in both district offices are new in office, this conversation served to get to know each other on a small scale. “Because of the corona pandemic, a larger round would only have been possible under difficult conditions,” said District Administrator Schauder.

The district administrators had agreed to repeat the exchange at regular intervals, then again with the participation of the municipalities. “Because the citizens do not think in terms of limits, and that is why this coordination is also important in the areas of district development, cross-state public transport, school transport, cycle path construction and in many other areas,” emphasized both district administrators in the press release.
