AMSTERDAM – Gerrit Jan van D., the main suspect in the controversial Ruinerwold case, traveled daily for a week with special transport between the prison hospital in Scheveningen and the Pieter Baan Center in Almere. For that solution – which amounted to about 200 kilometers every day – it was decided to be able to observe psychologically the ‘patriarch’ Van D. who had suffered a brain haemorrhage.
