Two fat burglars were noticed in the Main-Kinzig district in Birstein and Bad Orb. In one case, the Offenbach police published a curious excuse by the perpetrator. It has to do with cherries.
Birstein / Bad Orb – The alleged burglar in Birstein in the Main-Kinzig district was probably not looking for the delicious red stone fruit. According to the police headquarters of Southeast Hesse in Offenbach, a man had observed the stranger on the property of an apartment building in Bahnhofstrasse in Birstein.
The alleged burglar was in the process of removing a fly screen from a window at around 2 p.m. on Monday. “When the witness spoke to the stranger, he replied that he just wanted to eat cherries and fled,” reported police spokesman Michael Malkmus. The police described the man as “corpulent”.

In addition, he was dressed in a dark cap, a gray jogging suit and gloves, among other things. He had a small black bag on his chest. According to the police, the alleged intruder had “a dark complexion”.
But not only in Birstein, but also in Bad Orb, a fat burglar was noticed on Monday. The police described him as “stocky” and “plump”. The burglar, who is around 50 to 60 years old, broke into a single-family house on Sälzerstrasse on Monday between 10.15 a.m. and 10.35 a.m. through a cellar window.
“Before he tampered with the window, he was seen ringing the doorbell,” the police reported. “Since nobody opened the door, the burglar believed he was undisturbed and went into the house. He searched the premises and disappeared with three watches. “

After initial clues, the perpetrator, who was dressed in light gray trousers and a dark gray jacket and hat, fled with his prey through the patio door. He is also said to have worn a black hat, dark shoes and probably gloves.
The officers ask witnesses who have made further observations to the fat burglars to report to the criminal police on the telephone number (06181) 100123. The police in the Main-Kinzig district are currently busy with a case with two dead in Schlüchtern and Steinau. It has now been established that the corpses are from an elderly couple.
