Vaccination progress in the region seems to have come to a standstill. This is shown by the current figures from the Main Franconian health authorities.
For example, in the Würzburg area, around 900 people received their second corona vaccination within ten days – so the rate of those who were fully vaccinated has only increased minimally. It is thus unchanged at around 78 percent.
The rate of booster vaccinations is also increasing much more slowly than in the weeks before. In the meantime, 58 percent of the people in the city and district of Würzburg have had themselves vaccinated a third time. Ten days ago, the rate was 57 percent.
View of the districts of Kitzingen and Main-Spessart
This development is also evident in the districts of Kitzingen and Main-Spessart.
In Kitzingen, the vaccination rate is currently 77.3 percent – that’s around 325 people more than ten days ago. In addition, 60 percent of the district residents have now been boosted. This means that the rate for booster vaccinations has also hardly increased.
The demand for corona vaccinations also continues to decrease in the Main-Spessart district. About two-thirds of the district residents still have full vaccination protection here. Half has now been boosted.
The quotas in a national comparison
This means that the rates in the Würzburg and Kitzingen regions are still well above the national and Bavarian average. Across Germany, around 75.5 percent of people have full vaccination protection, and 55 percent are boosted.
Around 73.5 percent of the population in Bavaria is fully vaccinated, and 53 percent have now received a booster vaccination.
The district of Main-Spessart is not only in last place in the regional ranking, but also in a national comparison.
