Main Franconia: counties celebrate 50th anniversary… | Radio Gong Wuerzburg

With the local government reform in 1972, the districts in Bavaria were redivided – this also created the districts of Würzburg, Kitzingen and Main-Spessart in their current form. The districts are celebrating their 50th anniversary these days.

District of Wuerzburg

The district of Würzburg is celebrating a ceremony on the grounds of the district office on Friday morning. Prime Minister Söder is also expected as a guest. On Saturday there will be a celebration at the district office with volunteers from all over the district. On Sunday, the district office in the Würzburg Frauenland will open for everyone from 11 a.m. at an open house.

district of Kitzingen

The district of Kitzingen celebrates its 50th anniversary on Saturday with a ceremony in the Kitzinger Realschule. There is a traveling exhibition throughout the year, and further anniversary events are planned, such as a district hike.

Main-Spessart district

In the district of Main-Spessart there is the campaign “Main-Spessart rolls out the red carpet”. Participating shops and restaurants throughout the district have prepared campaigns and offers.

The district office will also take part in this campaign. On Friday afternoon, the red carpet will be laid out in front of the district office and you can talk to district administrator Sabine Sitter. On Saturday there will be various actions from the district youth ring at the district office in Karlstadt. In addition, the district will receive a golden book for the anniversary, which will be presented to the public on Saturday.
