On Thursday night, Chinchu Mathew attacked two excise officers who came to inspect the flat. Chinchu first pointed the gun and then flashed the knife. In this, the nail of the civil excise officer fell off. At this rate, Chinchu left the place on a bike. Search for Chinchu was going on for two days inside and outside the district.
Chinchu stayed in lodges in different parts of the city for the last two days in hiding. Six months ago, Chinchu started living in the flat in Vazhakala. 750 grams of MDMA and 56 grams of hashish oil kept for sale were found in the flat. It is said that the drugs were brought from Delhi. It was confirmed that the toy gun was pointed at the excise officials but no knife was found. He was earlier arrested by Chalakudy Excise for possessing one and a half kilo of hashish oil. After being released on bail in this case, he again entered into drug trade.
