Police forces carried out controls around 10.30 p.m. in the Graz city park in the area of the passport office meadow: There were around 400 people celebrating and loudly listening to music. The noise pollution was stopped, according to the police, a large part of the celebrants left the area. Around 200 people also gathered at Kaiser-Josef-Platz in Graz to spend the evening there – the police also checked this area.

According to the police, there were a total of 21 administrative violations that evening (nine board mandates, twelve reports). Further key controls are planned at “irregular intervals”, according to a broadcast by the Styrian State Police Directorate.
It was also emphasized that there was an understanding for the young people – but the “celebrants” also had to understand that the officials were doing their job. If there are violations of the law, the executive will react appropriately and with due consideration of proportionality.
