In times of Corona, not only the adults suffer from the depressing circumstances, but also the children and adolescents in particular. In Germany, 4.4 million of them live in difficult financial circumstances.
Two former football professionals want to help you now. We are talking about Maik Franz (played for Karlsruher SC and Eintracht Frankfurt, among others) and Sami Allagui (Greuther Fürth and Hertha BSC). Supported by more than 80 stars of national and international football, the two ex-professionals launched the MJ4K – My Jersey 4 Kids initiative. During the international break they want to start with three exciting activities – with the aim of supporting the children’s foundation “Die Arche”.
Eight teams will take part in an online click tournament from March 22nd to April 3rd as part of the “Arche Cup 2021” https://11ts.shop/MJ4K/ against each other. Each team is led by a captain who has put together a team and plays for an Arche location. Franz competes for the Arche Frankfurt-Nordwest, Allagui for the Arche Hamburg-Jenfeld.
Stindl: “Together for the kids”
“Maik Franz told me about the Arche Cup and MJ4K. I think the initiative is outstanding. We all have the chance to create something really big for the kids of the Arche together. So many soccer players have joined and are taking part . That is sensational, ”says Lars Stindl from Borussia Mönchengladbach SPORT1.
The 32-year-old is the captain for Arche Düsseldorf. “There was a very pragmatic reason for that: It is closest. And I’m already looking forward to bringing the children and young people of the Arche Düsseldorf Cup, prize money and equipment over to them.”
For each round won, the teams receive equipment for their ark location. The Arche-Cup takes place virtually in tournament mode on the homepage of the main partner 11teamsports. The team that collects the most clicks within 24 hours will advance to the next round. At the end, the cup awaits the winner as a challenge cup and prize money of 15,000 euros for the Arche location supported by the respective captain.
Augsburg professional Caligiuri: “Immediately confirmed”
Daniel Caligiuri from FC Augsburg is also happy to be there.
“I know Sami through my brother Marco. The two played together for several years, are very good friends and have never lost sight of each other. When he introduced me to his and Maik Franz’s initiative, I didn’t think twice about it, and immediately promised, ”says the 33-year-old SPORT1.
You don’t have to “look far to see children who are not doing so well,” says Caligiuri. “If all children in Germany were doing well, we wouldn’t need institutions like the Arche. Fortunately they exist and luckily there are initiatives like MJ4K.”
Stindl did not hesitate long either. “Anyone who walks through life a little with open eyes sees that there are unfortunately far too many children in our world who are not doing well. All the better are actions like those of MJ4K. And all the more important that everyone is at the Ark -Cup involved and thus supports the kids. “
Stars around Manuel Neuer are helping
In addition to Stindl and Caligiuri, the following also take part in the Arche Cup: Peter Niemeyer (Arche Berlin-Hellersdorf), Fabian Lustenberger (Arche Kreuzlingen, Switzerland), Daniel Caligiuri (Arche Munich), Gonzalo Castro (Arche Cologne) and Patrick Ebert (Arche Potsdam) .
Each of the participating 88 soccer stars will also donate a jersey, in keeping with the initiative’s motto: “My Jersey 4 Kids”. The 88 jerseys will be auctioned for a good cause. All proceeds go 100 percent to Arche. The auction starts on March 25th and can be found under MJ4K- My_Jersey_4_Kids https://ebay.de instead of.
