Maidstone struck today with a super night.
The sixth division team knocked out Ipswich – and went on in the FA Cup

Maidstone United recently roared past Stevenage in the FA Cup. On Saturday, there was a new huge shock for the sixth division team against Ipswich, who are in second place in the second division, the Championship.

Maidstone took the lead in the 43rd minute through Lamar Reynolds, then made it 2-1 through Sam Corne after 66 minutes of play. After the final whistle, players and managers celebrated wildly on the pitch

– It has been fantastic to be a part of this. This is the magic of the FA Cup. It’s a really fantastic result and this is what makes us want to come back and watch the FA Cup,” said BBC pundit and former player Martin Keown.

Maidstone is thus now, against all odds, through to the fifth round of the FA Cup.
