“Maia Castro to Perform New Show with Symphonic Segment in Teatro Solís”

Maia Castro is currently one of the most prominent composers and performers linked to tango, milonga and folk music in Uruguay.

She has released 5 albums, European tours, tours throughout the country and various performances in Uruguay, Argentina, Colombia and Brazil, among which her participation as a guest soloist of the Minas Gerais Symphony Orchestra (2018), with the Philharmonic Orchestra stands out. de Montevideo (2011-2017-2023), Montevideo Symphony Orchestra (2022), Tribute to Alfredo Zitarrosa at the Centenario Stadium in Montevideo in 2016 (where he shared the stage with prominent artists such as Joan Manuel Serrat, Liliana Herrero, Jorge Dexler and Fernando Cabrera among others) and their presentations at the SODRE National Auditorium and Teatro Solís in Montevideo.

Castro will perform with his band on May 27 in the main hall of the Teatro Solís. This is the presentation of the new Maia Castro show, where she will go through the songs that have accompanied her during these years of her career together with a great band and special guests.

In addition, the show will have a symphonic segment where the artist will remake some of her songs together with a string quintet and will advance part of the new project that she will undertake together with a guitar quartet.

It will be an unrepeatable show with about 20 musicians on stage and a musical tour that touches all Uruguayans closely.
