Books – Mahmoud Saeed:

Today, Saturday, the Fifth Circuit, in misdemeanors of cassation, seized 6 appeals filed by Counselor Mortada Mansour against rulings fining him in cases of insult and slander against the ruling in the next June 24 session.

Al-Ahly’s defense was present, and Mortada Mansour was absent from attending the “non-obligatory” session.

Lawyer Muhammad Othman, Al-Ahly’s legal advisor, said that 5 appeals against fines were issued against Mahmoud Al-Khatib and Al-Ahly members, and an appeal related to Malika Khalil and Maysa Khalil, two members of the Zamalek club.

The fines imposed on Mortada Mansour range between 10,000 and 90,000 pounds.

It is noteworthy that the Court of Cassation earlier upheld a sentence to imprison Mortada Mansour for a month on charges of insulting “Al-Khatib”, and the authorities released him after serving his sentence in Wadi Al-Natrun Prison.

The ruling, which resulted in a penalty restricting freedom, caused the Ministry of Youth and Sports to issue Resolution No. 500 of 2023 to implement the administrative court ruling in 4 cases dismissing Mortada Mansour from the position of president of the Zamalek Club.
