Mahmoud Saber, the former Al-Ahly youngster and currently professional in the ranks of the current Tunisian Sahel star, said that he refused to sign Al-Ahly in blank, pointing out that he requested a penalty clause in exchange for the signature.
Mahmoud Saber, from Al-Ahly youth, was born in 2002, and recently moved to the ranks of Al-Nijm El-Sahel for 4 seasons.
During radio statements for the “Falcon Stadium” program, Saber said: “I was hoping to stay at Al-Ahly, but they asked me to sign in blank and I refused.”
Al-Ahly’s junior added: “Al-Ahly asked me to sign a blank statement. I did not think about the financial value, but I asked to put a penalty clause in my contract with the club to agree to continue with the club.”
He continued: “Any player in the youth sector of Al-Ahly signs a blank, but I refused.”
He continued: “Etoile Sahel was following me in one of the youth team matches, and they offered my agent – an English national – the idea of joining the Tunisian team, and I agreed.”
And he added, “I signed a contract with Etoile Sahel, and there is a penalty clause in my contract worth 3 million euros, and I am happy with the step to join his ranks, and I will play with the first team of the Tunisian club.”
“Etoile Sahel is my step towards European professionalism. The management of the Tunisian club welcomes the professionalism of the players, and it is not a condition that I leave on the penalty clause. I may receive an offer of half a million only and be approved.”
He continued, “I will play with Etoile Sahel, starting next season, and I am currently training with the club to appear at a good level because my ambition is to appear with the Egyptian national team in the Tokyo Olympics.”
He explained: “Rabie Yassin, the coach of the Egyptian youth national team, is a major reason for my arrival to the coastal star, as he supports me as the youngest player in the national team, and I participate with him in more than 5 positions on the field.”
He concluded: “Some of the Al-Ahly administration in the youth sector contacted me to return, but I had made the decision to play in the Etoile Sahel club, which is a good step.”
