jpnn.com, JAKARTA – The Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) Mahfud MD regretted the attitude of the Grand Imam of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) Habib Rizieq Shihab who refused to be tested for COVID-19. Moreover, Habib Rizieq is strongly suspected of having had contact with a positive patient of COVID-19.
“We deeply regret the attitude of Brother Muhammad Rizieq Shihab who refused to do a contact tracing considering he had close contact with a COVID-19 patient,” Mahfud said in an official statement broadcast on the Youtube account of BNPB Indonesia, Sunday (29/11).
Mahfud asked that everyone who has had contact with a positive patient has to be cooperative. For example, to want to check their health status.
“We ask once again to the wider community, whoever it is, to cooperate so that the handling of COVID-19 is successful,” said Mahfud.
Previously, a team from the Bogor City Health Office came to the UMMI Hospital, on Friday (26/11) afternoon to provide assistance in implementing the swab test for Habib Rizieq Shihab.
However, the UMMI Hospital said that Habib Rizieq had been tested for a swab by his personal doctor from Mer-C.
Habib Rizieq has also written to the Mayor of Bogor, Bima Arya, for refusing the swab test. The Petamburan man apparently objected if the results of his swab test were later announced to the public. (ast / jpnn)
