JAKARTA – Coordinating Minister for Political Law and Security (Menko Polhukam) Mahfud MD revealed his experience when examined by investigators of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) who did not pass the Novel Baswedan National Insight Test (TWK) test. Mahfud claimed to have been questioned as a witness by Novel.
Mahfud admitted that at that time he was being investigated for a corruption case that was being handled by Novel in 2014. During the examination, he admitted that Novel only examined him for 15 minutes.
“I am with Mr. Novel Baswedan, both. When I was the Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court, I came to him. When he said there was a corruption case, I came to check. I was only examined for no more than 15 minutes,” said Mahfud in a dialogue with UGM professors, which was broadcast virtually, Saturday (5/6/2021).
After the brief examination, Mahfud said that at that time Novel praised him. “If all the country’s leaders are like you, everything will be fine for this country.” said Mahfud imitating Novel’s words at that time.
Hearing this, Mahfud then replied that if he became president, he would make Novel the Attorney General.
“I said ‘if I were president you would be the Attorney General. I said so. At that time,’ said Mahfud.

As is known, Novel Baswedan is included in the 75 KPK employees who did not pass the national insight test in order to change the status of being a state civil servant. (ASN). But on the way, of the 75 employees who did not pass, 24 of them were given further coaching.
