TRIBUNNEWS.COM, JAKARTA – Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menkopolhukam) Mahfud MD expresses his desire to lift Novel Baswedan become the Attorney General of the Republic of Indonesia if he serves as president of Indonesia.
This was stated by Mahfud when he was a speaker in a dialogue with the Chancellor of UGM and the leaders of PTN/PTS throughout Yogyakarta which was broadcast on Gadjah Mada University YouTube on Saturday (5/6/2021).
At that time, Mahfud was being asked about issues related to eradicating corruption.
Includes issues related to the weakening of the KPK through the dismissal of dozens of its officers from anti-corruption boards.
Mahfud also emphasized that he was pro against the KPK.

“I’ve always been pro-KPK. I’m the chairman of the Constitutional Court, 12 times I want the law to be overturned and I defend and win the Corruption Eradication Commission. But the decision on the KPK is not only in the government, it is in the DPR, in the party and in civil society and civil society. This society will also break up,” said Mahfud.
Mahfud then said that he knew a number of KPK employees who were threatened with being fired. Including senior KPK investigators Novel Baswedan.
According to Mahfud, he and Novel Baswedan have known each other for a long time.
