Mahesh Babu wanted an unemployed wife, Namrata Shirodkar

Namrata Shirodkar started her journey of winning the Miss India pageant in 1993. Namrada is the granddaughter of 1930s Marathi film actress Meenakshi Shirodkar and sister of Bollywood star Shilpa Shirodkar. After winning Miss India, she made her Bollywood debut in 1998 with Jab Pyaar Kaise Hota Hai. Mammootty Yehupunna Tarakan starred Malayalam film starring Namrata.

In 2004, after a seven-year career, Namrata ended his film career for good. It was after her marriage to Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu. Namrata says that before her marriage, Mahesh Babu placed a condition in front of her and that is why she stopped acting. The revelation was made in an interview with a Telugu channel.

Mahesh wanted a jobless wife. That’s why she didn’t act. His whereabouts have been clarified earlier. He would have told me to stop even if I worked in an office instead of a movie.

Namrata said that like Mahesh Babu, she too had a condition. She is from Mumbai. I had my apprehensions about living in Mahesh Babu’s big bungalow in Hyderabad after the wedding. She said that if she wants to move to Hyderabad, she needs some time. After the marriage, Mahesh came to Mumbai. She finished all her films before the wedding. After which all her work was stopped. I never intended to go back to acting. Namrata also said that it is not possible to leave the house and spend more time on the filming sets.
