“Mahershala Ali’s Blade movie taps True Detective creator Nic Pizzolatto to pen script”

Marvel Studios’ upcoming Blade movie is back in the news as True Detective creator Nic Pizzolatto has been brought onboard to pen the script. Yann Demange will direct the film, casting Mahershala Ali as the titular vampire hunter. Pizzolatto has been working off the latest draft by Emmy-nominated screenwriter Michael Starrbury. The plot remains under wraps, but rumors suggest the involvement of Dracula and Lilith. Production is scheduled to begin in May/June, and the supporting cast includes Delroy Lindo, Aaron Pierre, Milan Ray, and Mia Goth. Although Kit Harington was initially rumored to be part of the cast, his involvement is uncertain now. Pizzolatto has his work cut out for him to deliver a killer script before filming begins.
