JAKARTA – News of the death of the former prime minister Malaysia Mahathir Mohamad | circulated in a number of media after the 96-year-old politician was rushed to the hospital on Saturday (22/1/2022).
However, recent reports suggest Mahathir is currently in a stable and conscious condition.

Mahathir was rushed to a heart specialist hospital for the third time in the past month on Saturday. According to Mahathir’s daughter, Marina, her father is currently in a stable condition and is responding well to treatment.
“His condition is now stable and he is responding well to treatment,” Marina said AFP.

A source close to Mahathir also said that the condition of Dr, M, Mahathir’s greeting, was in good condition and he was beginning to be fully conscious.
“Alhamdulillah, Tun (Mahathir’s) condition remains stable and he is fully conscious and able to speak,” said the source as reported Utusan Malaysia, Sunday (23/1/2022).
