Lucknow: Ayodhya’s new airport may be named after Adikavi Vathmiki. Reports say that the name of the new airport will be ‘Maharshi Watmiki International Airport Ayodhya Dham’. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the airport on the 30th.

“The first phase of the airport with state-of-the-art facilities has been completed with an investment of Rs 1450 crore. The airport’s terminal building has an area of ​​6500 square meters and can serve 10 lakh passengers annually.

The entrance of the airport will be modeled on the design of the Ram Temple, which will be inaugurated next month. The interior of the airport will be filled with murals, local art forms and paintings depicting the life history of Lord Rama,” the Prime Minister’s Office said in a statement.

There are also LED lights and fountains to decorate the airport. Rainwater harvesting facility has also been prepared. It also has facilities like water treatment plant and solar power plant. The Prime Minister’s Office also said that the airport will be useful in boosting tourism and commercial-industrial-employment opportunities in the region.
