Maharashtra’s deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis has come forward to support the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) president Sharad Pawar over his views on Adani. Fadnavis said that Pawar’s statement about Adani’s involvement in the privatisation of airports was correct and that he had warned the government about it. Meanwhile, Maharashtra’s chief minister Eknath Shinde-led group has arrived in Lucknow and is set to visit Ayodhya on Sunday. Shinde has referred to his visit as a “matter of faith” and will be joined by thousands of Shiv Sainiks. Hotels in the area have been booked to capacity in order to accommodate the large number of visitors.
