Maguire: I don’t care what they say about me … and United win

Manchester United and England defender Harry Maguire has confirmed that he doesn’t care what the media say about him, indicating that he is ready to play with the team at any time.

Maguire has come under a lot of criticism recently after joining the England national team, even though he hadn’t played for Manchester United in six weeks, in light of manager Tin Hag’s lack of reliance on him.

“I am fine, ready to play and feel in excellent physical shape,” Maguire said in comments after England’s defeat to Italy in the European Nations League, in statements via “talkSPORT”.

He added: “I don’t know what the media say, I don’t really read about it and I’m not interested.”

“I don’t focus on anyone else and what people say about me, I think if people can write a story about me, I’m the captain of Manchester United, that’s great news.”

He continued: “It is clear that the manager (Eric Ten Hag) has decided to leave me out of the squad and the team has won ever since.”

“I work hard in training to make sure I’m ready when the opportunity arises, that’s all I can do to try and help the team.”
