Maguire Ambyar Becomes Supporter in 2016, Ready to Reply at Euro 2020

Harry Maguire never disappointed to see England National Team eliminated in Euro. Now Maguire will pay for it by bringing the Three Lions to the final Euro 2020.

This story happened at Euro 2016 when Maguire was still defending Hull City who played in the Championship division. Maguire spent the summer directly supporting England in France.

Unfortunately, England supported by Maguire and his colleagues appeared disappointing. The Three Lions, who was coached by Roy Hodgson at the time, were only in the last 16 after being surprisingly defeated by Iceland with a score of 1-2.

Maguire, who was at the Allianz Riviera stadium at that time, could only look down at England’s defeat. Five years later, Maguire was part of the England national team that advanced to the semifinals European Cup 2020.

“It was a disappointing night at that time. But, when I look back at that time, supporting and following the national team was something to be proud of, because I watched my idols play. The players I idolized since childhood,” said Harry Maguire as quoted First Post.

Now England will face one of the dark horses, Denmark, in the Euro 2020 semifinal match at Wembley, Thursday (7/7/2021) early morning WIB tomorrow. Maguire has a tough task to quell the Danish dynamite explosion in order to bring England to the final.

“Getting to the semifinals of two major tournaments in a row is a great achievement. But for now we are still in the semifinals and we want to go further. That’s our mentality. We focus on that,” he continued.

“I don’t want to remember the bad times supporting England. It was a really good time as a kid, although there were disappointments as well.”
