Renowned jazz singer-songwriter Magicians Herrera He has just released his new album titled Aire with songs in English, Spanish and Portuguese.
The album includes jewels from the Latin American songbook such as Gracias a la Vida and Alfonsina y el Mar and original songs, including a tribute to the indigenous shaman María Sabina.
These new compositions were written during the pandemic, in times of global isolation, and were commissioned by Chamber Music Americas New Jazz Works.
The Mexican singer, who moved to New York in 2008, has collaborated with artists such as Javier Limón, Paola Prestini and the Brooklyn Rider quartet.
Magos Herrera will perform in Bryant Park on Friday, July 21 as part of Carnegie Hall’s free summer concert series. For more information, you can consult the website bryantpark.org
