(CNN Spanish) – An earthquake of magnitude 5.7 shook the southern coast of Peru this Saturday, according to reports from the United States Geological Survey (USGS, for its acronym in English).
The seismic focus was located at a depth of 13.1 kilometers and the epicenter was located 109 kilometers south of Atico.
The telluric event occurred around 9:02 pm local time in Peru, 10:02 pm Miami time.
The Directorate of Hydrography and Navigation of the Peruvian Navy reported that the earthquake “does not generate a tsunami on the Peruvian coast.”
