The epicenter is located 23 kilometers from Niort, in Deux-Sèvres, 36 kilometers from La Rochelle. The tremors were felt as far away as Brittany, particularly in Rennes and in mainland France with many testimonies collected in the Rennais districts of Poterie, Cleunay, Villejean but also in Pacé, Rheu, Laillé in particular.
