Magnificent New UEFA and Adidas Official Balls for Champions League and UEFA Women’s Champions League 2023-24 Season

MADRID, 22 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –

UEFA and Adidas have presented this Tuesday the official balls for the Champions League and the UEFA Women’s Champions League for the 2023-24 season, both inspired by the hymns that are played in the stadiums before each game in the continental competition.

According to a statement, the new designs of the balls for the men’s and women’s Champions League pay homage to the iconic symphonies that sound in the moments before the matches of the greatest continental club competition are played, “collecting the irreplaceable sensations of emotion and expectation that accompanies them”.

Set against a metallic silver background, the men’s competition version of the ball integrates a single letter from the instantly recognizable chorus, ‘the champions’, in each of the 12 stars, in a striking calligraphic style. Visual representations of the musical tones of The song intersperses the stars in striking royal purple, red and blue, colors chosen to represent ‘royalty’ vying for the trophy.

For the women’s, the new design incorporates lyrics from the song on two of the ball’s striking star panels, creating a unique circular text pattern in bright orange. The remaining ten stars feature a wavy pattern in purple and pink, crafted using the same lyrics from the anthem, but significantly enlarged to create a bold, abstract look.

Both balls incorporate a number of Adidas performance technologies, such as a surface texture to improve accuracy. The outer texture coating offers “secure grip and control” over the ball, while the thermally bonded seamless construction ensures “the balls retain optimal shape for maximum performance on the pitch.”
