Magnetospheric Hurricane, Earth will experience unusual disturbances from today

NEW YORK – Disturbance in Earth’s magnetosphere caused by geomagnetic stormsk expected to occur today following a massive eruption of magnetic fields and plasma from the Sun’s corona on August 28, the National Meteorological Service (SWPC) Space Forecasting Center in the United States said.

As reported by The Sun Thursday (2/9/2021), Hurricanes can affect power lines and transformers, disrupt satellites and disrupt radio communications. READ ALSO – T EHang’s Flying Action Seen Airs in the Sky of Indonesia

A statement on the SWPC website states that the phenomenon known as Corona Mass Ejection (CME) is expected to reach Earth yesterday and today.

CMEs, also referred to as geomagnetic storms, are placed on a scale of 1 to 5 where 1 is the weakest and 5 is the most potentially damaging.

Associate Professor from the Institute of Disaster Risk and Reduction, Dr. Robert Wicks previously said geomagnetic storms could cause power supply disruptions.

“If there’s a geomagnetic storm big enough to cut off the UK’s energy supply, that means radiation in space is very bad.

“This will cause the satellite to be damaged or unable to operate for a certain period of time during which satellite communications, GPS and weather forecast a It’s at risk of being affected, “he said.
