Solar activity is expected to increase in the future.
A forecast of solar and geomagnetic activity for August 26-28 2024 published US Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Space Weather Forecast Center.
Geomagnetic storms are classified according to power level – K index – from 2 to 9. The higher the K index, the stronger the storm and the impact it has on people and equipment.
MondayAugust 26solar activity is expected with a K index of 3 (green level), which corresponds to small geomagnetic disturbances that cannot affect human well-being. But, already on Tuesday and Wednesday, 27 and 28 Augustgeomagnetic activity will increase to K-index 4 (yellow level) – small magnetic storm.
Note that the forecast may still change, as solar activity researchers update their data every three hours.
