The magician Mr Tarno who always looks funny with his magic show, suddenly burst into tears when he told the story about his mother. It turns out that since he was 3 years old, Pak Tarno was neglected by his mother and left to live with his elderly grandmother.
According to Mr Tarno, after his father died his mother left without taking him. Little Mr Tarno even dropped out of school because his old grandmother was no longer able to work.
Since childhood, Pak Tarno has been used to working or the legend he called it. Remembering stories from his childhood, Mr Tarno was emotional and sobbed.
“Father died, mother, instead of taking care of the child, was abandoned when she was young,” he said emotionally at the Rumpi: No Secret studio, Transmedia, South Jakarta, last weekend.
Pak Tarno admitted that it was difficult to talk when it came to his mother. Now, Mr Tarno is old and the pain of being abandoned by his mother still lingers.
Life was so difficult that little Pak Tarno ate boiled leaves. When children his age went to school, Mr. Tarno had become a coolie to pay his living expenses with his grandmother.
Until finally Pak Tarno, who at that time was already popular and known to the public, received information about his mother’s whereabouts in Sumatra. He heard the story while watching television, his mother talking to the people around him. Mr. Tarno was his son.
However, his mother’s confession was not believed by the people around him. Pak Tarno finally came to Sumatra to meet his mother who had abandoned him.
“I also met, I was already an artist, I was old. He told Tarno people about my son. No one believed him,” he said.
“Finally I came to Sumatra…,” Pak Tarno cried again.
“‘I’m sorry sir, ma’am, I’m really his son, he was abandoned when he was little’. (People near where his mother lived said), ‘Yes, he’s been recognized for a long time, it’s really bad that his father died and was taken care of’. People have acknowledged that he has become an artist. I don’t believe it,” he explained.
When he met his mother, Mr Tarno still felt hurt. Finally, his mother apologized for neglecting him.
“Yeah, just saying that, ‘I’m sorry No. Tarno is little, I don’t take care of him. Now he’s old’. Now I still feel sick. I used to eat clover leaves, water hyacinth, boiled leaves of any kind, it was hard to eat rice, even corn. “You have to work as a coolie before you can eat, people at my school are already working, and you don’t have to pay for first grade,” said Mr Tarno haltingly.
