The couple moved there in 2017. “Back then it started with a string of lights,” Bärwald remembered. Since then, more and more Christmas decorations have been added. For five years, Bärwald and Pieczko have been transforming their home in the Kassel district into a veritable sea of Christmas lights.
Lights come on daily until mid-January
The Christmas collection has now grown to include various Santa Claus figures, reindeer, sleighs and snowmen. An approximately ten meter high inflatable Santa Claus fell victim to the stormy winter winds in 2022. “Now we have a new six meter high specimen,” said Bärwald happily. A glowing LED teddy bear will also be new. Another special feature: Children can send their letters to Santa Claus at the Christmas house. Bärwald promises an answer to anyone who gives his address.
Bärwald and Pieczko want to let the magical lights shine every day from dusk until probably mid-January. On the weekends, the couple entertains onlookers at a stand with mulled wine, children’s punch, bratwurst, fries, etc. The proceeds will go to Waberner Tierhilfe.
